At Aisling O'Brien Photography, I understand the value of your precious time and the importance of capturing your family's most significant moments. Whether you choose to visit my unique Helensville studio or you are opting for an epic on location shoot, I offer a seamless and efficient process, ensuring you get stunning, timeless photographs without any of the hassle or big time investment of a traditional portrait studio.
I specialise in documenting the milestones, joys, beauty, and love that make your family unique. With my expertise, I am dedicated to creating and preserving memories that will last for generations.

Step 1
Booking Your Session
Ready to capture your family’s precious moments? Getting started is simple and hassle-free. To reserve your date, just sign the paperwork on your phone and pay a session fee of $275. Share a few dates that work for you, and I’ll do my best to accommodate them. Once we finalize the date, everything else can be done at your convenience.
Important Considerations:
Weekend Dates: These are highly sought after, so book a few months in advance to avoid disappointment.
Special Occasions: Schedule your session at least 6 weeks before events like birthdays to allow for processing and printing times. For Christmas, plan for 8 weeks.
Best Time for Kids: Early mornings are ideal for babies and young children. In-home newborn sessions are best at 10am.
Golden Hour: Evening sessions start about an hour before sunset. If evenings don’t work, consider a beautiful sunrise session.
Weather Policy:
We can create stunning images regardless of the weather. Dark and stormy skies can be just as captivating as sunny ones. However, if the weather is severe, we have alternative options: you can visit my Helensville studio, I can come to your home, or we can find an indoor location. Often, rain showers pass quickly in Auckland, so I do my best to make sure we can go ahead if everyone is comfortable.

Step 2
Preparing for Your Session
Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive a personalised prep guide. This guide comes with years of experience photographing families, from maternity right through to legacy sessions. It covers everything you need to know, how prepare in the weeks leading up, and what to expect on the day to prepping your kids and choosing all important wardrobe. In addition to this you get my exclusive Style Magazine, which has been written for you to help with every stage of styling your families wardrobe for your session. I’m always just a message away for any questions or support you may need.
Just Before the Session:
A few days before our session, I’ll touch base to confirm all the details. If the weather looks problematic or someone falls ill, we can discuss alternative plans. If you have any fun ideas or special requests for your session, let me know so I can incorporate them.
On the Day:
Please set aside about 2 hours for your session (3-3.5 hours for new-borns). Sessions typically last about an hour, but I’m flexible with time to ensure everyone is comfortable and relaxed. This extra time accounts for any wardrobe issues, meltdowns, or other surprises.
Relax and Enjoy:
Your session is a time to connect with your loved ones. I’ll provide gentle guidance to help you feel at ease, allowing genuine moments to unfold naturally. For kids, I keep the atmosphere fun and engaging, focusing on their natural behaviour rather than posed smiles. My new-born sessions are baby-led, ensuring comfort and natural poses.
Step 3
Viewing and Purchasing Your Photos
Within about a month of your session, you'll receive your fully finalised gallery—no proofs, just all the best moments captured through my lens.
Your images are delivered in the form of a custom slideshow, perfect for gathering your family and reliving the joyous moments we shared during the session. It's your chance to see your memories come to life, set to beautiful music, all in one place.
For the next 24 hours, you'll have unlimited access to your slideshow, giving you ample time to enjoy it at your own pace. When you're ready, simply choose your desired image package through the provided link. As always, payment plans are available, just say the word and we can easily spread the cost.
Once you've made your purchase, your complimentary print credit will be activated. You'll then have a whole month to download your images and tuck the files away safely, and also to explore your gallery store for the print products that will bring your cherished memories to life.
